ETIOLOGY. The lungs are responsible for descending and dispersing the QI through the body and for keeping the skin nourished. The lungs are also responsible for the primary defense of the body. Lungs can become deficient with common colds, excessive use of antibiotics, long term chronic lung disease, insufficient natural endowment, sedentary lifestyles and excessive smoking. Emotions such as grief and sadness often deplete the lung energy leaving it deficient.
SYMPTOMS. Shortness of breath, coughing, watery sputum, fatigue, soft weak voice, weakness, limited speech, sweating during the day without apparent cause, increased susceptibility to colds and flues, dry throat, dry cough, night sweats, hot sensations in palms and soles of feet. Aversion to colds, pale complexion.
CONDITIONS. Allergies, chronic bronchitis, bronchial asthma, colds, tuberculosis, emphysema, allergic rhinitis

Eat fresh, organic foods when possible
