ETIOLOGY. The body’s circulation of blood, vascular and lymphatic system, and vital nutrients rely on the smooth and continuous flow of the vital energy known as QI. When the Qi is not flowing properly it tends to stagnate. Stagnation can result from many causes but most have an emotional component and lack of regular physical activity. Excessive eating and overuse of chemically adulterated foods and drinks further the stagnation.
SYMPTOMS. The most common symptom of Qi Stagnation is distention, and pain. Pain often moves from place to place and is unpredictable. Various masses and lumps may also appear and disappear at random. Mental depression, irritability, gloominess and frequent mood swings are also common, often accompanies with frequent sighing and belching. irregular periods, breast distention and PMS symptoms are commonly seen in women.
CONDITIONS. Chest pain, and congestion, abdominal, hypochondria and epigastric pain and swelling are common. Hernias, Gallstones, hepatitis, Digestive disorders, peptic and duodenal ulcers, and irritable bowel syndromes. Retention of urine, tinnitus, obesity.

Incorporate regular exercise such as walking, swimming, or Tai Chi, Qi Gong
Avoid refined and rich creamy foods
Avoid poor quality oils and fats
Avoid overeating, eat smaller more frequent meals
Avoid excessive amounts of nuts and seeds
