ETIOLOGY. In Chinese Medicine the Yin energy is responsible for nourishing and revitalizing the body. It is responsible for all fluids in the body including the blood, saliva, and all lubricating fluids in joints as well as the spinal fluid . The Kidneys store the primary Yin energy and deficiencies can arise from chronic illness, insufficient natural endowment, aging, excessive overwork, lack of sleep, excessive sexual activity, bearing children at early age, abortions or miscarriages, excessive blood loss or prolonged emotional stress.
SYMPTOMS. Dizziness, tinnitus, vertigo, poor memory, deafness or loss of hearing, blurred vision dry mouth especially at night. Feeling of heat in palms of hands and soles of feet, thirst, dry skin, reduced lubrication in genitals. Red lips and cheeks, night sweating or spontaneous sweating. Low grade afternoon fever, cough with sputum that may contain blood, low back soreness and weakness, aches deep in the bones, dark scanty urination, nocturnal emissions, or nocturia, premature ejaculation, constipation, insecurity, agitation and insomnia and fear. Loose teeth, loss of hair. Early menstruation, or uterine bleeding, amenorrhea.
CONDITIONS. Systemic Lupus Erythematosus, Rheumatoid arthritis, tuberculosis, chronic hepatitis, Parkinson’s disease, menstrual disorders, chronic hearing problems, chronic low back pain, diabetes mellitus, hypoglycemia, asthma, headaches, chronic urogenital infections, febrile diseases, viral bacterial, fungal and parasitic infections.
